The Agua Caliente Aquatic Center has changed hands with new owner, Jane Hansen purchasing the business from its former proprietors. Hansen said in an interview the previous owners originally approached her about being the aquatic director at the center and instead, she decided to take the plunge and purchase the business outright March 1.
“My plan is to ramp aquatic offerings like swim lessons, masters classes and aqua aerobics,” said Hansen. “We have a great indoor pool as well as an outdoor pool and many in the community don’t even know we’re here.”
To combat that, Hansen plans to open the club up during the summer to families who are looking for a membership and a place to swim. Exactly how she’ll do this is still up in the air but her goal is for the pool to be inclusive of as many in the community as possible.
“I want the center to be inviting to everyone, regardless of age or economics,” said Hansen, who is currently investigating a pricing structure but says the cost won’t be “prohibitive.” “I’d like everybody in Sonoma to feel like they have a place to swim.”
