Detroit reborn at former Bonanza Ford site

Posted on November 3, 2010 by Sonoma Valley Sun

Hey Sonoma, the boys from Detroit are in town so make them feel welcome. That’s right, until mid-November, Chrysler Motor Company will do business out of the former home of Bonanza Ford as they ready the 2011 Dodge Durango for market.

According to Chrysler’s Jack Dolan, the company is intent on reinventing the Dodge brand and have a major product introduction planned over the next several weeks.

“This is the perfect facility for us to use to keep the pre-production 2011 Dodge Durango in tip-top shape,” said Dolan. “We try to be good citizens in any city we visit and here in Sonoma, we’re all lodging locally and eating in town for the next couple weeks. Our guys have felt totally welcome by the folks here who’ve been stopping by to see what’s going on.”

Dolan said the new Durango will feature a more modern footprint than traditional SUVs making it more appealing to drive. It will also offer increased fuel efficiency.

“This is a new direction for the company and we’re starting with the Durango. It’s an exciting time for all of us.”

  1. I actually chatted with a guy from Detroit, involved in this project at Mondo’s the night the Giants won the series. He said he was enjoying his stay in Sonoma very much and that everyone was very welcoming! And he left a Giants fan (maybe)??
