The spicy, sweet smell of gingerbread can be detected up and down the Valley. From as far north as Chateau St. Jean to the southern outpost at Viansa, elaborate replicas of winery tasting rooms are on display in the fifth annual Gingerbread Winery contest, organized once again by the Sonoma Valley Vintners and Growers Alliance. This year, there are ten wineries in on the act and each of the sweet creations is on display in the representative tasting rooms through December 31, 2010.
Tasting room guests are invited to vote for their favorite gingerbread structure. Ballots are available at each winery and each time you vote you will be entered to win a case of Sonoma Valley wine. It’s a wonderful holiday outing for the whole family. Visit the wineries, sample some of Sonoma Valley’s finest wines, do a little holiday shopping and, of course, vote for your favorite Gingerbread Winery. Visit Sonoma Valley Grapes and Wine on Facebook for more opportunities to vote and win.
