Boo the dog wagged his little lobster tail Saturday after the 2nd annual Barkus in the Springs, a Mardi Gras parade for dogs along Highway 12 in the Springs.
The roundtrip walk made its way from The Epicurean Connection to the Arroyo Vet Hospital, where homemade treats and prizes were distributed. As their companions shared owner stories, the dogs slurped water and indulged in congratulatory sniffing.
Participants included Nancy King, acting executive director of Pets Lifeline, who was walking one of three shelter dogs in the parade.
