Partial makeover for Springs eyesore

Looking a bit more respectable these days is the former, long-empty Uncle Patty’s tavern on Boyes Blvd. at Highway 12.

The decrepit building, a key parcel in the area’s strategic redevelopment plan, was recently boarded up and painted by owner Karen Waikiki. The building has been called a deplorable, dangerous eyesore by the Springs Community Alliance.

A report said that Members of the Springs Redevelopment Advisory Committee are unanimous in their support for acquiring the property, but requests to obtain an appraisal to initiate the process have been rebuked by the owner. The recent work, however, was a pleasant surprise, said John Haig of the Sonoma County Redevelopment Agency.

Now for the mobile home eyesore that burned down all those months ago – no wonder we aren’t fans of mobile home parks when their owners/landlords care so little about our neigborhood…..

Lipstick on a fat pig! Pays Sonoma Valley lip service then thumbs her nose at a legitmate solution? OK….lets see what else the Grassroots Effort can do to assist in negotiating a reasonable settlement.
