VinOlvo, the Sonoma Valley Vintners and Growers Alliance’s annual taste-a-palooza, brought out the best from more than 60 Valley wineries and 20 area chefs at the Lodge at Sonoma.
Enjoying the scene were Maureen Cottingham, executive director of SVVGA and Laurie Gallian, Mayor of Sonoma.
At 550 tickets sold, the Feb. 18 event was another sell-out. Guests voted on their favorite flavors. Results of the ‘Best of VinOlivo’ balloting:
Best Overall Winery: Gundlach Bundschu Winery
Best Overall Culinary: Hopmonk Tavern’s Lamb with Parsnip and Olive Tapenade
Best White: Beltane Ranch’s Sauvignon Blanc
Best Port Wine: Ty Caton’s Petite Syrah Port
Best Red Wine: Nicholson Ranch’s Pinot Noir
Best Sparkling Wine: Gloria Ferrer’s Va de Vi
Best Featured Food & Wine Pairing: Carneros Bistro and Wine Bar’s Pommes Frites with Gloria Ferrer’s Va de Vi
Cottingham said 70 percent of attendees coming from outside Sonoma County. “VinOlivo continues to be a great destination event to kick off the President’s Day weekend festivities.”
