“Dogs! It’s the Musical!” returns for three shows this weekend at the Sonoma Community Center.
The story follows an angel sent to earth as a dog, who learns the ways of the canine in the dog park, doggie day care and an animal control center. The show’s 13 songs are very much in the American theater tradition, said Producer Anne Peterson and, unlike the musical “Cats,” has a strong plot, with 27 roles including 20 parts played by dog-costumed actors.
Performaances will be Friday and Saturday evenings at 8 p.m., and Sundays at 3 p.m., through May 15. Tickets are $20 and available at the Sonoma Community Center, 938.4626 and sonomcommunitycenter.org.
