Still time to enter photo contest

Annadel State Park welcomes photographers from amateur to professional, fifth grade through adult, for the second annual Celebrate the Park digital photo contest.

The deadline has been extended through September 5 to allow one final weekend photo outing.

Entries will be judged by local professional and travel photographers. Exhibitions of the top photograps will be shown in community venues in Kenwood, Oakmont, Santa Rosa and Sonoma over the winter.

Sponsored by Valley of the Moon Natural History Association, the contest celebrates Annadel’s 40th anniversary and will help raise funds to benefit the park.

“This year there is an urgent need to raise awareness and funds to aid in the effort to keep Annadel, Sugarloaf and Jack London State Parks open,” said the VMNHA’s Elisa Stancil. “This annual contest intends to bring the people to the parks and the parks to the people.

The grand prize is a state wide park pass. For complete contest details, and to see last year’s winning entries, go to www.annadel40th.com
