Deadly solo crash on Cavedale Road

A woman was killed Monday when she was thrown from a pickup truck rolling down a Sonoma Valley hillside.

Barbara Bradley, 52, was driving a Chevy pickup on Cavedale Road when the vehicle ran off the steep road and down a 50-foot cliff.

She was not wearing a seat belt, according to the CHP report.

The vehicle rolled several times before coming to a stop in thick brush. The accident was reported at about 6 p.m. by a motorist who noticed debris in the road.

Officers initially had trouble locating the vehicle, which was hidden from view and reportedly could have crashed much earlier in the afternoon. A coroner was called to the scene.

Cavedale Road, which runs east from Highway 12 just south of Madrone Road, was closed as the crashed vehicle was hoisted off the hillside.
