Staples opens Saturday

Posted on September 28, 2011 by Sonoma Valley Sun

It’s time to open the big box and see what’s inside.

Staples will open at 977 W. Napa St. on Saturday, October 1, at 9 a.m. No ribbon cutting or public ceremony is planned at the erstwhile Holder Ford building.

The world’s largest office products company has, however, announced it will celebrate the opening of its first store in Sonoma with a $2,500 donation to the Sonoma Ecology Center.

“Staples is serving Sonoma not only as a valuable economic resource, but also as a community partner that supports local non-profit organizations,” said Richard Dale, executive director of the Sonoma Ecology Center. “We greatly appreciate the donation from Staples which will help us provide the resources needed for our programs to enhance and sustain ecological health in Sonoma Valley.”

“Staples has a long-standing commitment of preserving the communities and the environment through sustainable business practices and products,” said Kristin Fagundes, general manager of Staples. “We’re also committed to supporting local organizations such as the Sonoma Ecology Center that make a lasting impact through innovative environmental education programs.”

  1. For those who prefer a locally owned and operated business there is Sonoma Valley Office Supply. You can also set up a direct commercial account with SVOS’s dba Bear Flag Office Products for prices that meet and beat those that Staples offers. Free delivery the next business day. 707-364-1260

  2. I am concerned about the traffic, especially when someone has to turn into parking lot. I think it will be a nightmare!
