Ten different pianists will play the grand piano in Jack London’s House of Happy Walls on Saturday, October 29, in a unique concert to benefit the Valley of the Moon Natural History Association. The Steinway, built in 1901, was purchased by Jack London in 1910 as a present for his wife Charmian, an accomplished pianist. After her death in 1955, the piano sat essentially untouched until 1988 when Park Rangers Greg Hayes and Matt Atkinson founded the Jack London Piano Club, 10 members of which will play from 4 to 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $10. 2400 London Ranch Road, Glen Ellen. 538.4391.

Dead on

The Sonoma Community Center celebrates Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) with lively entertainment, music, dancing, food and a public altar on November 1 from 6 to 8 p.m. The event is free, and guests are invited to participate by dedicating a golden paper butterfly to a loved one and adding it to the memorial, a sculpture designed by Jim Callahan. The evening will include a colorful dance performance by Sonoma’s own Ballet Folklórico Quetzalén, and Noche Tropical will play traditional Mexican dance music. 276 E. Napa St.
