Posted on May 4, 2012 by Sonoma Valley Sun

California State Parks, in cooperation with Sonoma-Petaluma State Historic Parks Association, will host Children’s Day at the Sonoma Mission on Saturday, May 5, noon to 4 p.m.

The family adventure presents a day of Mission life circa 1823. Park volunteers and staff, dressed in period garb, will give hands-on demonstration of basket weaving, wool carding and spinning, steer roping and branding, and candle making. Enjoy music, corn bread baked in the horno (beehive oven), and lemonade.

Mission San Francisco Solano is located at 114 E. Spain St. Park admission is $3 for adults and $2 for children ages 6 to 17.
