The Maine event

Posted on October 6, 2012 by Sonoma Valley Sun

Ready to pinch pennies for Soroptimist International of Sonoma Valley are Sandy Curtis, left, and Juliette Andrews, through the group’s annual lobster sale. The club will sell live Maine lobsters at the Sonoma Chamber of Commerce, 651 Broadway, on Saturday, October 20, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The crustaceans will be flown in from Maine that morning. Lobsters weigh about 1.5 pounds, cost $25 each and can be ordered live or cooked. Advance orders are necessary and must be received by October 18.

To order call 939.2661. Proceeds from the sales are used to support Soroptimist local projects, which include six educational scholarships to graduating seniors from Sonoma Valley High School and donations to several non-profit organizations in Sonoma Valley.
