Finding it amusing

Posted on October 18, 2012 by Sonoma Valley Sun

Ethel Daly, Jean Charles Boisset, Andy and Tim Egan with son Pat Egan, and Gene Daly were among the revelers as the Sonoma Community Center raised over $100,000 at its 2012 Sonoma Valley Muse event. In a rousing call for support of Sonoma’s performing arts and historic Andrews Hall, masters of ceremony Bob Smith and Boisset charmed the audience and brought home funding to more than match a $100,000 challenge grant issued by Rotary of Sonoma Valley. “Thanks to the generosity of Jean Charles Boisset, the Rotary Club of Sonoma Valley, Sonoma Theater Alliance and the generous businesses and individuals in Sonoma, we are ready to begin construction on Andrews Hall the middle of January,” said Toni Castrone, SCC executive director. Fundraising continues for additional construction including final seismic work, exterior facing repair, and parking lot improvement. The eighth annual event featured live performances from a range of musicians: a nine–piece big band, soloists from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, a string chamber ensemble, and a performance by the Valley of the Moon Chamber Ensemble.  Nearly 200 guests dined under the stars, with the newly restored Buena Vista champagne cave as a memorable backdrop to the Oct. 13 affair.
