Members of Sonoma Valley Quilters display some of the 31 handmade baby quilts the club recently donated to the Friends in Sonoma Helping (FISH). “Each quilt is a labor of love and the ladies enjoy knowing that their work translates into a Sonoma baby wrapped in love,” said FISH volunteer Sand Piotter. FISH uses quilts as the foundation for its layettes, which include a receiving blanket, onesies, t-shirts, going home outfit, diapers, handmade bib, sleepers and a stuffed animal. FISH has provided layettes for new mothers and their babies for 30 years, and also keeps a supply of diapers and baby food on hand. Requests for a layette can be made by calling 996.0111.
Sweet dreams
