Denise Lynn Logan, 65, died suddenly on Sept. 7, 2013, at UCSF medical center.
Denise was born on Aug. 21, 1948, in Seattle, Wash. She has been a resident of Sonoma for 61 years.
She attended St. Francis Solano School and graduated from Sonoma Valley High School, class of 1966. Denise was in banking for 18 years and also worked for the Sonoma Valley Unified School District for 18 years. She was currently serving as a special education instructional assistant at Sonoma Valley High School.
Denise married Bill Logan on Sept. 4, 1976. Together they shared vacationing at their time share, Hot August Nights, gambling and block parties in the neighborhood where they lived for 37 years.
She will be remembered for her love of conversation, “wine time” with her close friends and neighbors, and was the biggest fan at her granddaughter’s sporting events.
She is survived by her husband, Bill Logan; daughter, Kelli Richardson Melberg (Terry); granddaughter, Nicole Melberg; brother, Billy Parisi (Gina); nephew and nieces, J.D., Gianna and Maddy Parisi. She was predeceased by her mother, Geraldine (Hitchcock Shone Hutchison); and father, Robert Nygaard.
Friends are invited to attend a celebration of her life on Friday, Oct. 4, 2013, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Sonoma Moose Lodge. Bring your stories and memories to share.
The family will hold a private inurnment at the Valley Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family prefers that memorial contributions be made to the “Denise Logan memorial scholarship fund” at Bank of the West, Sonoma Branch.
