Armed robbery in Glen Ellen

Three suspects in an armed robbery, during which the victim was hit in the head with gun and chased down a neighborhood street, eluded capture Thursday night after an attack in the parking lot of Glen Ellen Grocery.

The victim told Sheriff’s Deputies that he was accosted by three males in front of the store. The victim and armed suspect were involved in brief struggle, during which the victim was hit in the head with a semi-automatic handgun.

The victim managed to get into his truck and drive a short distance with the three suspects following him. The victim eventually abandoned his truck in the front yard of a nearby home while being chased on foot by the suspects.

Deputies responded to the 13000 block of Gibson Street in Glen Ellen after a neighborhood residence called 911 and reported a male victim had driven a truck onto her property and began yelling for help. The male reported he was being robbed and threatened by a male suspect armed with a handgun.

Deputies with assistance from officers from the California Highway Patrol and a canine unit conducted a neighborhood search but were unable to locate any of the three suspects.
