Sonoma Food Taxi now delivering. Two weeks ago I reported that we’d soon have a food delivery service option in Sonoma outside of Pizzeria Capri and Mary’s Pizza Shack. They had a bit of a slow start, but, Sonoma Food Taxi is now open for delivery and serving Sonoma Valley. Now you can enjoy tasty morsels from the Red Grape, Maya, Taste of the Himalayas, and B&V Whiskey Bar & Grille without having to put your pants on to leave the house. Huzzah! Use the coupon code GRANDOPENING at checkout for free delivery this week only. sonomafoodtaxi.com
Glen Ellen Star’s Ari Weiswasser is up for Food & Wine’s Best New Chef award and you can vote for him. Glen Ellen Star serves my favorite vegetables in the entire Valley – I can gorge on Weiswasser’s brussels sprouts with no regrets. Good luck Ari! Vote for him here.
This week is LaSalette’s 17th anniversary and they’re still serving up some of the finest cuisine – and the only Portuguese cuisine – in Sonoma Valley. Book a romantic table on the patio and give a after-dinner port toast to Chef Manuel Azevedo. Here’s to another 17! 938-1927, 452 1st St. E., Sonoma; lasalette-restaurant.com
Speaking of chefs, Ledson Hotel has a new Executive Chef – Yoshiharu Sogi. Most recently, he’s the former Chef de Cuisine at the legendary Mauna Kea Beach Hotel in Kohala, Hawaii. The hotel is currently offering wine tastings in their Zina Hyde Tasting Room and we can only assume wine pairings in the future. Welcome to Sonoma, Yoshiharu! 996-9779, 480 1st St E, Sonoma; ledsonhotel.com
Oso named one of top 100 hottest spots in USA by OpenTable which is quite a feat for a website that allows consumers to reserve tables at over 20,000 restaurants. Only two Northern California restaurants were on the list – Oso and Oakland’s MUA, the latter which is indeed, quite a hot spot with its DJs and nightclub vibe. Check out the complete list here. 931-6926; 9 E. Napa St, Sonoma; ososonoma.com

Sign this petition to help stop the use of RoundUp on Sonoma creekbanks which should concern anyone who likes to pick berries by the creeks and cares about the welfare of the humans and animals in our community. They need 500 signatures and are at 300 after I signed. Do it! Sign here.
