Don Valente Ramos becomes a U.S. citizen at in swearing-in ceremony in San Francisco.
A faithful volunteer for years at La Luz Center, where he assists with the Friday food distribution and other projects, Ramos prepared for the November 16 exam in a citizenship class taught in Spanish by La Luz founder Ligia Booker.
The new citizen was honored at a pre-Thanksgiving dinner and celebration at Valley Oak Homes. Very proud to be an American, don Valente dubbed himself “Obama’s new son.”
