The City of Sonoma is looking for volunteers to fill vacancies on two commissions: traffic safety, and design review.
Interested citizens may apply by submitting an application form to the City Clerk. Application forms are available at City Hall or may be downloaded from the City’s website www.sonomacity.org.
Applications will be accepted until 5 p.m. Wednesday January 13, 2016. If the positions are not filled as a result of this recruitment they will remain open until filled.
TRAFFIC SAFETY COMMITTEE — The committee is responsible for evaluating traffic safety issues that are referred to it by staff as part of the City’s hazard reporting process. It is made up of five members and an Alternate. It meets on an as-needed basis. There are two vacancies; one is a regular member position which may be an out of City (Sonoma Valley) resident. The other vacancy is the Alternate which must be a City resident.
DESIGN REVIEW & HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION — The purpose of the Design Review and Historic Preservation Commission is to protect the architectural heritage of Sonoma, identify and preserve significant historic resources, enhance the visual character of the built environment, and promote excellence in town design and architecture through its review of projects. The Commission is made up of five members and an Alternate. It meets the third Tuesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. This recruitment is to fill the Alternate position. Applicants must reside within the City of Sonoma.
