Sweet Scoops Homemade Ice Cream is offering up a special treat right now: wine ice cream.

The ice cream shop has made quite a name for themselves – producing fresh ice cream and sorbet, made in-house using seasonal ingredients.

They’re producing “boozy ice cream” – which friends have described as “very tasty.”

The ice cream is kid friendly – the flavors are subtle and like most great desserts made with alcohol – the alcohol component doesn’t make much of an appearance in the final product (so no kids, you won’t get tipsy eating this ice cream!).

First up, the Pangloss Cherry Chip,  stars cherries soaked in Pangloss’ 2010 Red Blend and mixed with chocolate chips.

Next, a Strawberry Champagne Sorbet. Vegan, it’s made with bubbly and strawberries from the legendary Watmaugh Strawberry Farm.

They also have a Red Wine Cheesecake which uses a a port made by TAJ Cellars, a Sonoma County based small lot winery.

Flavors change daily based on availability and as of publication, Pangloss Cherry Chip is available. Sweet Scoops is open Sun-Thur, 12PM-9PM | Fri-Sat, 12PM-10PM. 408 1st St. E., Sonoma | 721-1187 | sweetscoopsicecream.com
