Exciting news for those with kids in their lives who are looking for a great meal, at a good price, for a family night out: Community Cafe will now be open Thursdays and Fridays for dinner.
Starting Thursday, Jan 7, Chef and Owner Margie Brooke will be serving up set menu meals (similar to what she does at the Annex Wine Bar next door) from 6PM-9PM.
Thursday is chicken night (!!!) and Friday is burger night. Beer and wine is available. The same meals will be served next door at the Annex for those over 21+ looking for a different atmosphere.
Fried chicken night on Thursdays for adults includes 2 pieces of house fried chicken, roasted garlic mashed potatoes OR mac and cheese, gravy, coleslaw and a honey buttermilk biscuit ($15). For kids under 12, one piece of fried chicken, mac & cheese and cornbread with honey butter ($10). You can also get a kid’s mac and cheese for smaller eaters ($3.95).
Owner and Chef Margie Brooke’s famed burgers (which are my favorite in Sonoma Valley) will be offered on Friday nights. Adults can choose from a beef burger, turkey burger, fried avocado, chorizo burger or portabello mushroom burger, all with toppings, and a choice of fries, sweet potato fries, onion rings, or a salad ($10).
Kids can get a grilled cheese with a side for $6.95.
This is the first time the Community Cafe has opened after lunch. This gives Sonoma Valley residents and visitors another dinner option, gives folks who want the same food and a different atmosphere a quieter environment at the Community Cafe, and encourages families to take advantage.
Annex will serve the same set meals on Thursday/Friday and also continues to offer other food themed evenings, including mixed grill, BBQ, chicken pot pie, and other great comfort foods, for those 21+. Check out their calendar and menu at communitycafesonoma.com.
Community Cafe is located at 875 W Napa St, Sonoma. 938-7779.
