Young or old, rich or poor, who doesn’t love a good happy hour? In my home state of Indiana, happy hour is illegal, out of fear that patrons will binge drink themselves into an alcoholic stupor in a short period of time.
However, anyone who attends happy hour around Sonoma Valley knows it rarely goes that far and that happy hour is a great excuse to hang out with friends and save a few bucks on drinks and food.
Happy Hour is a powerful tool for socializing (“We’re leaving work early and going to Hopmonk for a “meeting”); budgeting (Discounted food and drink? Yes, please!); showing gratitude (Local establishments give back to locals by giving us a few hours of discounted food/booze); and supporting the economy (we spend money at your establishment).
While happy hours are well promoted in cities like San Francisco or Oakland, it remains under the radar in Sonoma Valley.
