Rumpus Cellars closed the doors on their downtown Sonoma tasting room this month. Carneros-based Adastra Vineyards will be taking over one the best spots on the Plaza. The tasting room is located next to Oso and directly across from the City Hall.

The new tasting room will open-mid March.

Rumpus Cellars’ winemaker and owner, Scott Peterson, also makes wines for Naked Wines and is a consulting winemaker to numerous private labels.

Peterson is one of three winemakers in Sonoma County producing Albariño and he produces wines under both the Rumpus Cellars and S.P. Drummer label.

Adastra Wines will be taking over the spot. Adastra is owned by  Chris Thorpe and Edwin Richards.

Family owned and operated, Adastra’s tasting room decor will be reflective of the Carneros region and will showcase their two labels – Adastra and Ed’s Reds, the pet project of Edwin Richards.

Adastra’s wines are all CCOF certified organic. They produce Carneros AVA Chardonnay, Merlot and Pinot Noir.

Ed’s Reds are for those seeking big reds: Barbera, Syrah, Zinfandel, Petite Syrah, and red blends,  from various appellations, including Napa Valley.

They’re Sonoma residents, eager to share their wine with locals and visitors alike. We’ll keep you posted as the tasting room gets closer to completion!

Welcome to the Plaza, Adastra! adastrawines.com
