Posted on April 21, 2016 by Sonoma Valley Sun

park mapSonoma County Regional Parks invites the public to help shape the future of Sonoma Valley Regional Park at an April 27 planning workshop.  Community feedback is sought on a draft master plan that identifies potential trails, habitat preservation, and other priorities for two properties that have been added to the park. The workshop is scheduled for 6 to 8 p.m. at Dunbar Elementary School, 11700 Dunbar Road, in Glen Ellen.

The planning area includes a 29-acre parcel, known as the Curreri Addition, added to the park’s northern boundary in 2015, and a 41-acre parcel, known as the Sonoma Developmental Center Addition, added to the park’s southeast and central boundaries in 2007. Plannersexpect to bring a final draft master plan to the Board of Supervisors for approval in early 2017.

More details on the expansion planning are available on the Sonoma Valley Regional Park project page at sonomacountyparks.org.
