PrimaveraThe long-closed Springs eyesore Uncle Patty’s Bar & Grill will be torn down and replaced by an Italian restaurant, according to initial plans submitted to the Sonoma Valley Citizens Advisory Commission.

Owner Karen Ann Waikiki, who also owns the nearby El Molino, said the new venture is named Primavera Nueva. Plans call for a 28-seat restaurant and bar space (1,974 sq. ft.) with an additional seasonal dining patio (1,620+ sq ft).

elevationThe signature Valley Oak on the .30 acre property will be retained, Waikiki said. At 15 Boyes Boulevard, the lot sits on the spur of Boyes now closed to through-traffic at Highway 12. Construction will include new sidewalks.

No timeline was given for demolition and new construction. After a clearing the SVCAC, the plan moves to the County planning department for consideration. The architect is Adrian Martinez.

    1. Mercado Central is, according to submitted plans, is the name of Waikiki’s company that owns El Molino.

  1. Waikiki’s restaurant is El Molino Central and it is one of the very best restaurants in the valley. Looking forward to another restaurant by the same owner. I’m betting it will be terrific!

  2. Waikiki’s restaurant in the Springs is El Molino Central, and it is one of the very best restaurants in the valley, including food to go. Fresh handmade tortillas are the foundation of a meal at home. I look forward to another restaurant by her!

  3. An Italian restaurant is always a good idea, in which case Ms. Waikiki might want to name it “Primavera Nuova,” which is Italian for “New Spring” instead of “Primavera Nueva” which is Spanish. Hopefully, the cuisine will not be confused.
