| Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office and local emergency medical personnel were called to Riverfront Park, in the unincorporated area of Windsor, yesterday afternoon, June 15, 2016 at 4:38 PM. There was a report of a man down and unresponsive on the riverbank. He appeared lifeless and was surrounded by his fishing gear.
Deputies, Sonoma County Park Rangers and paramedics arrived and found a man deceased. There was no sign of trauma, foul play or anything suspicious whatsoever. It appeared that he likely suffered a medical emergency while fishing from the water’s edge.
The deceased is identified as Michael Christopher Panas, a 71 year old man from Sebastopol. His family was located and informed of his death. |
