china campChina Camp State Park, San Rafael – Minutes off of clogged Hwy 101 is sudden serenity along San Pablo Bay. Extensive intertidal salt marsh, meadow, and oak habitats, plus 15 miles hiking, mountain biking and equestrian trails. Friendsofchinacamp.org.

 

Bothe ParkBothe-Napa Valley State Park, Calistoga –Year-round camping, picnicking, hiking and seasonal swimming. Ten miles of hiking trails among redwoods, maples, oaks and madrones over 1,900 acres. Campsites and yurts (permanent tents) available. Napavalleystateparks.org.
