Ledson Winery and Vineyards has launched a new summer wine and food pairing at their downtown Sonoma Zina Lounge.
They are offering two pairing options, 4-courses ($90) and 6-courses ($150), by appointment, created by Executive Chef Yoshiharu Sogi and Winemaker Steve Ledson.
The 4-course menu includes a fried bacon wrapped Hammersley oyster (pictured) paired with a Zina Hyde Cunningham ’14 Anderson Valley Pinot Noir Rose; chilled fennel soup paired with Zina Hyde Cunningham ’13 Anderson Valley Reserve Chardonnay; pan seared sea bass with sauteed summer squash and bok choy paired with Zina Hyde Cunningham ’11 Russian River “Shalee” Pinot Noir; and ending with a Superior Farm roasted lamb loin with sauteed organic carrots, green beans, roasted beets, baked sweet potato and blackberry peppercorn sauce paired with a Ledson ’12 Howell Mountain Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. For an additional $25 guests can add a dessert course of caramel accented chocolate mousse and a summer berry crepe paired with Ledson ’14 Redwood Valley Zinfandel port.
The 6-course menu includes all the pairings above, including dessert, and an additional course: Swiss chard wrapped Cornish game hen ballotine with Pioppini mushroom and pistachio, sauteed edamame and corn and slow braised turnips with miso flavored pomegranate jus.
