Suite D celebrate Grenache Day 9/16

Grenache, Grenache, and more Grenache

Suite D will host their annual Grenache Day Celebration on Friday, September 16.

The event takes place on International Grenache Day, a wine holiday that celebrates Grenache and aims to increase public knowledge about the Rhone varietal grape.

Last year’s event was a raucous good time with Grenache geeks from throughout Northern California flocking to Suite D to drink red, white and rose Grenache and to enjoy food from the Fig Caters.

This year, 13 wineries will sample big pours of Grenache wines, including the girl & the fig, who produces their own red, white and rose Grenache wines.

Many small production producers will be there, including Idle Cellars (try their new Grenache Blanc at Sonoma Grille right now), Dane Cellars (who we featured in Crackin’ 90), Mathis Wines (who some credit with bringing Grenache to the Sonoma Valley forefront), Winery Sixteen 600 (who just celebrated their 1 year anniversary), Jeff Cohn Cellars, Lightning Wines, Tablas Creek, Miner Family Wines, Ram’s Gate, Imagery, Scala Dei DOQ Priorat (Spanish Grenache!!), and Mounts Family Winery.

Food will be provided by the fig rig and live music, too!

Wine club members and Suite D Social Club members tickets are $48; general public $60. All wine and food is included. 6:30 PM, 21800 Schellville Rd., Sonoma | figsuited.com.

p.s. a lot of wine will be poured, so consider taking Vern’s Taxi or your preferred ride share or taxi service to and from Suite D.
