Accompanied by enthusiastic seniors, the float with the theme “Under the Big Top,” created by the Sonoma Valley High School class of 2019, rolls down Broadway in the annual Homecoming day parade.
The traditional processional of class floats, the school band, students and teachers, and police escorts traveled from the school to a rally on the Plaza.
Included in the entourage were of course members of the Homecoming Court, riding in open cars and offering royal waves to the many spectators lining the route: Izzy Albano; Audrey Castillo; Madison Schiffman and Annie Neles; joined by Logan Mak; Guillermo Hurtado; Justin Cox; and Austin Arrington. Named King and Queen at that night’s football game (alas, a loss to Petaluma) were Siobhan Hernandez and Daniel Gallo.
The senior float? It took tops honors — the fourth straight win for the Class of 2019.
