New principal for Sassarini Elementary School

A school district employee since 2005, Stefanie Jordan is the new principal at Sassarini Elementary School.

Most recently, she had been the school psychologist at Sassarini Elementary School as well as Sonoma Charter School. Prior to that, she served Prestwood Elementary and as needed throughout the Sonoma Valley Unified School District.

“(I) considered elementary school administration for a few years now, and am thrilled and fortunate to have landed at Sassarini,” said Jordon, a mother of two current SVUSD students, The new role begins July 1.

Jordan has worked in public education for 21 years. She earned her B.S. in Psychology from UC Davis, followed by a Masters of Science in School Psychology from California State University, Sacramento. 

“She is invested in this community and grounded in our valley’s needs as well as those of Sassarini in particular,” said Socorro Shiels, SVUSD superintendent. “Students and staff have benefited from her knowledge and experience in academic interventions, social-emotional learning and behavioral support, as well as a depth of experience and knowledge in Special Education.”
