Rising to the challenge of exhibiting art while being closed due to Covid-19 restrictions, Sonoma Valley Museum of Art presents an online auction October 8-13, 2020 of artworks in glass, paintings, photographs, prints, and sculptures donated by the generous Sonoma community and nationally acclaimed artists. Around 140 artworks are displayed in varied artistic styles sure to appeal to everyone.

Contributors to the event are Chester Arnold (above), Jane Baldwin, Joel Bernstein, Enrique Chagoya, Peter Hassan, Kara Maria, Frances McCormack, Bob Nugent, Valentin Popov (below), Richard Shaw, Wanxin Zhang, and others. Many recently exhibited their work at the museum.

Proceeds benefit SVMA education and exhibition programs such as A.R.T.S (Art Rewards the Student), providing arts education for all students in 4th and 5th Grades in Sonoma Valley Schools.

An example of programs supported by this effort is the current on-site exhibition, “California Rocks! Photographers who Made the Scene 1960-1980” featuring a special video tour by curator Joel Selvin which is available online.

The auction is open to everyone through free registration at Svma.org.
