The National Weather Service is forecasting heavy rains in Sonoma Valley tonight, with winds gusts of 30 to 55 mph. The storm will be at its heaviest between 9 p.m and Midnight, and continue through Thursday afternoon.
A flash flood watch is in effect. This means debris flows, landslides, and flooding may occur.
If a flash flood warning is issued, the NWS will send alerts using NOAA Weather Radios, the Emergency Alert System, and the Wireless Emergency Alert system.
Of particular concern are areas downstream from the Kincade, Walbridge, Meyers, and Glass Fire burn scars.
Be alert for possible danger due to erosion, debris flows, rock falls, and land movement. Current weather conditions may cause power outages preventing additional notification. Monitor local radio stations for information in the event of power failure.
