The details are a bit overwhelming, but the news is good. Three new vaccination centers will open within the next eight days in Sonoma County serving residents 70 and older, including a Sonoma Valley site at Veterans Memorial Hall. The additional sites bring to 19 the number of clinics being supported by the County of Sonoma Department of Health Services.

The county announced the news this afternoon.

Also today, Safeway stores across Sonoma County, including Sonoma, are scheduling appointments and administering the vaccine to eligible residents. Additionally, CVS Health has said that it will start giving vaccines to eligible populations at CVS Pharmacy in Sonoma — and 100 other communities across California — on Thursday, February 11.

“We are committed to ramping up our vaccine distribution effort to reach even more of our population in an equitable way,” said Lynda Hopkins, Chair of the Sonoma County Board of Supervisors. “With these new clinics, in partnership with our health care providers, we can now start serving even more seniors who are most at risk at this time.”

  1. My wife and I are over 70 years old. We want the COVID vaccine. We live down the street from the petaluma JC campus. Can we come and receive the vaccine. Thank you.

  2. I have been trying for a week to get my mother’s neighbor in. He is 80 years old and doesn’t have any tech to get on line. He doesn’t even own a cell phone and is hard of hearing. HOW can I get an appointment???? There NEVER is any available appointments.
