Marc Frank, an American journalist who has lived in Cuba for the past 30 years, checks in from Havana with an April 23 zoom presented by the Praxis Peace Institute.
The live update, Cuba Today! Revelations About the Cuba We Don’t Hear About in the US, begins at 4 p.m. PST.
Frank has been a freelance writer for Reuters, the Financial Times, and others. He is the author of one of the definitive books on contemporary Cuba, Cuban Revelations: Behind the Scenes in Havana, and was a lecturer on the Praxis educational tours to Cuba in 2015 and 2016.
“This is an opportunity to learn about the incredible resilience of the Cuban people, the Cuban medical system, Cuban art and education, their handling of COVID, and much more,” said Praxis’ Georgia Kelly. “Marc Frank is an expert on Cuba from the perspective of an American who has become Cuban.”
