The Sonoma Valley Unified School District has named Jennifer Montgomery as Principal of Prestwood Elementary School.
Montgomery comes from Lakeport Unified School District, where she most recently served as Assistant Principal of Terrace Middle School. During her ten years in education, including Special Education, Classroom Paraeducator, Athletic Coach, Classroom Teacher, and Assistant Principal.
Montgomery holds a Master in Education from Western Governors University and attended Chico State University.
Elizabeth Kaufman, SVUSD associate superintendent of Education Services, stated, “Ms. Montgomery brings expertise and passion for students that will seamlessly support Prestwood students and families through our transition to return to in-person instruction.”
Montgomery, a Chico State grad, said it’s always been a dream of hers to live in Sonoma. She said she’s excited to immerse herself in the Valley and join the Prestwood Elementary School supportive and caring community.
Said Kaufman, “Her focus on students and true love of engaging them as learners both inside and outside the classroom are great additions to Prestwood’s legacy of parent and community involvement for student success.”
The hire will be made official at the August 17 board meeting.
