Boys and Girls Clubs celebrate ‘youth of the year’

A part of the Boys and Girls Club of Sonoma Valley since age five, Jennifer Tellez is the BGCSV Youth of the Year for for 2022. Candidates for the annual honor are high school juniors and seniors who have shown a significant arc of change in their lives; Jennifer spoke about her experiences as the daughter of immigrants in the Sonoma Valley, and growing up watching them work multiple jobs as they started out in a new country.
The teenager was was nominated as Youth of The Month in February for her extraordinary work in the internship and after-school programs. Jennifer now has her eyes set on UC Davis.
