The VIP tent was one of the hot tickets for the Sonoma International Film Festival, the 120-film, multiple-venue extravaganza that wrapped on March 27. Artistic Director Kevin McNeely (left) presented actress Jacqueline Bisset, here with Kelly Amormino and Rosemary McNeely, with the SIFF Cinematic Excellence Award.

The cinema spree included one-of-a-kind culinary events, with chefs Jacques Pepin and Joanne Weir, and free public events including the always-popular Sonoma Valley High School Media Arts Showcase (with a live cameo by actress Karen Allen) and a Chaplin Silent Film with live music from The Hometown Band.

The World Premiere of Fair Play. Filmmaker Jennifer Siebel Newsom with NTY Best Selling Author Eve Rodsky, who wrote Fair Play: A Game-Changing Solution For When You Have Too Much To Do (And More Life To Live), on which the documentary was based. Siebel Newsom’s husband, Gavin, attended the premiere.

 


Actor/director Karen Allen kicked off the festival by speaking to the students at the SVHS Media Arts Showcase on Wednesday, March 23. SVHS Student Filmmaker Bella Quillici moderated the discussion.
