SV School District loses associate supertintendent

Bruce Abbott, the associate superintendent of business services for the Sonoma Valley Unified School District will leave the post effective August 1.

The announcement, attributed to Superintendent Adrian Palazuelos, Ph.D., was made Tuesday in his weekly ‘Update to the Community’ email newsletter. His complete statement is as follows:

“Bruce Abbott has informed me that he will be retiring from the Sonoma Valley USD effective August 31, 2022. I have had the tremendous honor of working alongside Bruce. He joined the Sonoma Valley Unified School District in 2017 during a time when the district was struggling financially. Bruce is a champion for all students and through his work leading our business functions has helped to position SVUSD for future success. We wish Bruce great success, rest, and relaxation in retirement.”
