Sonoma poets’ ‘Last Kiss’

Posted on February 6, 2024 by Sonoma Valley Sun

The Sonoma Writers’ Workshop celebrates a decade of popular literary events held at Bump Cellars in Sonoma on Saturday, February 10th with “The Last Kiss:  Celebrating 10 Years at Bump.”

This event marks the tenth year of poetry, music, and readings offered by local writers and wordsmiths including AJ Petersen, Lisa Summers, Steve Meloan, Carol Allison, Stacey Tuel and Jonah Raskin.

The group’s 2014 inaugural event, dubbed “Naked and Drunk Poets” kicked off a sometimes raucous, often mesmerizing, and always entertaining reading series.  With provocative themes like “Kiss and Tell,” “Get It Off Your Chest,” and “Dry is the New Wet,” writers have always been encouraged to create new, original work to entertain audiences.

A crowd favorite is the annual “Things That Go Bump in the Night,” a Halloween-themed evening of fright and delight.

Bump Cellars Tasting Room hosts the 2024 version at 521 Broadway Ave, Sonoma.

Steve Shain will accompany on upright bass. Owners and Geordie Carr and Mieko Imai, who graciously provide a residence for Sonoma’s literary scene, will be pouring their delectable wines for purchase by the glass.

Admission is free, seating limited, with light snacks and tasty desserts courtesy of the writers themselves.  Doors open at 6:30pm and readings begin at 7pm.
