Larry Barnett Larry Barnett lives in Sonoma where he was elected to three terms on the City Council and served twice as Mayor. A thirty-three-year resident, he currently serves as Chair of Sonoma's Planning Commission. He has been married for 48 years, has two daughters and three grandchildren.

Sebastiani Theatre’s 90th Anniversary fundraiser

The Sebastiani Theatre is celebrating its 90th birthday and you’re invited for an evening filled with fantastic live entertainment.

Please join us for first “A STEP BACK IN TIME” fundraiser on Saturday, April 6, from 5:30-9:00 p.m. at the Sebastiani Theatre.  A lovely reception with drinks and hors d’ouervres from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. will precede the talent-filled show, which will begin at 7:00 p.m.  Built in 1933 and opening in April, 1934, the Sebastani Theatre invites you to don your best and fanciest 1930’s attire (optional) and join us for an evening of grand celebration.  Proceeds from this first fundraiser will go toward the operations and maintenance of the beautiful Sebastiani Theatre so it can continue to serve this wonderful community well into the future.

Many stellar acts will comprise this “A STEP BACK IN TIME” fundraiser show, including:

*Pasquale Esposito Italian tenor, originally from Naples, who has toured the world, and sung with many of the great Italian tenors. He has been featured in 2 PBS specials, and has released 10 albums.

*Ellen Toscano, “The Singing Auctioneer,” who has been a professional singer, actress, and stage performer most of her life. Ellen spent ten years as a lead performer in the longest running musical revue in the world, San Francisco’s “Beach Blanket Babylon.” She will be our Singing Auctioneer!

*The Stephanie Ozer Trio featuring Stephanie Ozer, who has been nominated twice as Best Jazz musician in the North Bay.  She has a classical Piano Performance degree from the University of Michigan School of Music.   She is a composer, musician, and bandleader. Stephanie plays a wide range of jazz, and has been heavily influenced by Brazilian and Latin Jazz.

*Tommy Thomsen, who was born and raised in Sonoma, plays piano and guitar, in a wide variety of musical styles, but is best known for his Western Swing and has been inducted into multiple Western Swing Hall of Fames. His mother was a legendary local Honky-Tonk piano player with the nickname of “Big Red.”

*Lexy Fridell, a singer and actress, has performed on Broadway, in “The Pee Wee Herman Show 1st National Tour: ‘Avenue Q.’“ She also performed in “Finding Nemo,” The musical for Disney, and did a one-woman show, “Brace Yourself! Tales of Broadway, Braces, Dating, & Drool,” which won a SF Broadway World Award, plus countless other performances.

*The Sean Carscadden Trio featuring that incredible musician and singer, plus the wingmen in trio, Gator Nations drummer Mickey Cannon and Cliff Hugo, the trail-blazing bassist for “Supertramp” and Ray Charles, who are sure to entertain you.

*Diego Garcia is a singer and entertainer who has wowed audiences from Moscow to Mexico, New York to LA. He discovered his singing voice growing up in Sonoma, and later went on to study at the prestigious San Francisco Conservatory of Music. He is an accomplished conductor, music producer, and songwriter.

*Ballet Folklorico Quentzalen Their mission is to educate, preserve and promote the splendor of Mexico’s traditional dances ,music, and costumes.

*Sonoma Conservatory of Dance, a valued educational entity for many years promoting the creative spirit of the community through dance.

*Zee Hubbard Aspiring singer, and actress, grew up performing on the Sebastiani Theatre stage.

*Roger Rhoten, that well-known and -loved magician, will amaze you with a bit of his fantastic magic.

*Sebastiani Theatre House Band, a fabulous group of talented musicians will fill the Sebastiani Theatre with their captivating sound. The Sebastiani Theatre House Band will be “The Neil Fontano Quintet,” featuring Neil Fontano on piano, Robby Elfman on reeds, Tom Martin on bass, Todd Morgan on drums, and vocalist Emily Day.
