SOS more than doubles the number of people it’s feeding

Posted on July 9, 2024 by Sonoma Sun

Sonoma Overnight Support’s Executive Director Kathy King reports that SOS fed 726 individuals in the first six months of 2024, as compared with 284 during the first six months of 2023.

Moreover, during the recent heatwave, SOS joined Vintage HouseEl Verano Elementary School, and Sonoma Valley Regional Library and opened a cooling center by extending their hours of service. Their Unity Kitchen has air conditioning, and they were able to offer a respite for anyone who needed to cool down and have some cold water and ice cream.

SOS relies on donations of food and money to fulfil its mission of feeding people. Few questions are asked and nobody is turned away.
