As reported by the Sonoma Ecology Center, hundreds of Chinook salmon are now headed up Sonoma Creek and its tributaries, and they’re even being seen in smaller streams like Fryer and Nathanson creeks, right in the City of Sonoma.
It’s a special thing that Sonoma Valley’s watershed can still support them, along with steelhead trout, California freshwater shrimp, beaver, otter, mink, and a host of other amazing plants and animals that depend on our healthy streams. Their wellbeing is a testament to the good fortune of our location, and to the stewardship of the people who live and work here.
