With colder weather expected over the next few days, the County of Sonoma, in partnership with the City of Sonoma, will open an Emergency Warming Center on Monday and Tuesday nights.
Located at 151 First St West at the City of Sonoma Emergency Homeless Shelter (formerly known as the Haven), the center will provide a warm and safe space for individuals who need shelter from the chilly conditions.
Cold weather can affect people without adequate shelter, as well as pets, plants, and exposed pipes. Residents are encouraged to dress warmly, bring pets indoors, and take precautions to protect plumbing.
For those needing a place to stay warm, the latest information on warming centers is available at SoCoEmergency.org/emergency/warming-centers. Tips for preparing for cold weather can also be found at SoCoEmergency.org.
