The theme for the 110th annual Valley of the Moon Vintage Festival is “Celebrating Sonoma’s Heritage,” as exemplified by the festival’s annual poster contest winner Diane Forney’s entry entitled “Vintage Produce Label.” This is the second year in a row Forney has won the honor. According to Vintage Festival Board member and contest coordinator Matt Dockstader . “We were very pleased to have such a large number of really diverse entries. The piece needed to display well both as a poster and as T-shirt art. Diane’s work fit these needs perfectly.”
In addition to the honor, Forney also received an award of $500.
Dockstader added that the board was so moved by submissions from children that they decided to share them with the public and announced an additional contest to choose a winning child’s artwork. (Please see pages 30-31 for images of the children’s submissions.)
