Dia de Los Muertos, or Day of the Dead, is a festive and colorful holiday to celebrate our loved ones who have passed on. Making an altar (or ofrenda as it’s called in Spanish) for the occasion is a way for you to honor the life of someone who was important to you or to remember your ancestors.

There are no hard and fast rules about how your altar should be made—it can be as simple or as elaborate as your imagination and creativity allow.
The kit includes: instructions, one cigar box, one skeleton, one bottle of tacky glue, one container of mod podge, two tea lights, tissue paper, pipe cleaners, one sponge brush, a baggie of beads and gems, plastilina clay, and a variety of patterned and metallic papers. Also, information about the traditional elements of Dia de Los Muertos altars, some ideas on how to get started, and all of the decorations and tools you need to create a beautiful cigar box altar.
