The Valley of the Moon Vintage Festival Board of Directors has named the Benziger family as Grand Marshals of this year’s 110th Valley of the Moon Vintage Festival. According to board member Stephanie Dunn, “The Benziger family was a unanimous choice for Grand Marshals amongst Vintage Festival board members. The Benziger family is building a wonderful heritage here in the Valley, based on a tradition of community and environmental sustainability. We are pleased they have chosen to honor the Vintage Festival by agreeing to be this year’s Grand Marshals.”
Taking place the weekend of September 28-30 in and around Sonoma’s historic Plaza, the theme of this year’s Vintage Festival is “Celebrating Sonoma’s Heritage,” in honor of the Valley’s many contributions to local history and culture.
Rob and Robin Lyon have been chosen 2007 Community Honorees in recognition of their ongoing and generous contributions not only to the people of Sonoma Valley, but to other communities as well. Valley of the Moon Vintage Festival board member Paula Vinson said, “The 110th Vintage Festival is our time once again to gather as a community and celebrate the bounty of another harvest and the carrying on of traditions we have known as our own. Honoring Robin and Rob Lyon for their constant humanitarianism is indeed what Sonoma is about!”
The Valley of the Moon Vintage Festival is celebrating its 110th year and is the second oldest festival in California, following the Rose Parade. The festival is free and open to the public. Proceeds benefit many local Sonoma Valley nonprofits including Vineyard Workers Services.
