School Bus Fees 2007 – 2008

Bus passes for the coming school year went on sale earlier this week and can be picked up on weekdays between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. at the transportation department at 18751 Railroad Ave. Passes this year will cost $250 for the full year both ways, $125 for half year or full year one way ($62.50 for half year one way). Reduced and free fare applications are also available at the transportation department.
All parents applying for free or reduced passes must have with them proof of income (current pay check stub, letter from their employer or an income tax record). The income should include all working adults living in the household.
Bus transportation is provided for a fee to students who live beyond the following walking distances from their schools: grades K-3 (1/4 mile); grades 4-8 (one mile); grades 9-12 (four miles). Students who are open enrolled are not provided transportation unless a bus is already scheduled at a stop that is going to their choice school and space is available on that bus. If there are three or more children living in the family, the third and each additional child will receive the reduced fare. The names of all riders should appear on the form. Special day class students that are IEP for transportation will receive the free fare. SCOE and Head Start students are on different schedules. These parents should receive information from their students’ drivers.
Questions should be made to the department of transportation 707.935.6092 between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m.
