The 110th Valley of the Moon Vintage Festival is rapidly approaching and will take place September 28-30 in and around Sonoma’s historic Plaza. This year’s theme is “Celebrating Sonoma’s Heritage,” in honor of the Valley’s rich history and culture.
The nonprofit Vintage Festival is organized each year by a dedicated, all-volunteer board and benefits Sonoma Valley community projects and nonprofits. This year’s beneficiaries include Native Sons of the Golden West and Vineyard Workers Services.
The Patron’s Night Gala on Friday, September 28 will kick off the weekend’s festivities. More than 70 wines will be served, along with delicious food samples and music by the Richard Olsen 10-piece big band orchestra. Tickets are $65. Organizers are seeking additional food providers for this event, to participate, or to purchase tickets, please contact Paula Vinson at 707.337.2777 or vinatgefest@sbcglobal.com.
Additional highlights of the weekend-long festival include Sunday’s Vintage Festival Parade at noon around the Plaza, followed by the KSVY Bottle & Glass Dash at 1:30 p.m. (a wacky waiter’s relay race) and the grape stomp at 3:30 p.m. The parade, Bottle & Glass Dash and grape stomp are open to all community members, for information and entry forms, please visit the website at sonomavinfest.org or e-mail Paula Vinson at vintagefest@sbcglobal.net.
